Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage is a home in Kpando Village, Volta Region,
Ghana, that provides disadvantaged children with proper nurture,
nutrition, shelter, clothing, medical care, and education. The
orphanage cares for children without parents, promotes early
childhood development, and trains children to become responsible
and useful citizen in their communities.
Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage is open to children from all communities
regardless of ethnic background, faith, gender, and culture.
Their motto is "Liability today, asset tomorrow".
History
The Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage began in August 2006, with Mrs. Regina
Esime Djentuh (a.k.a. Mama Esi) caring for the orphaned children
of Kpando Village. Having lost her own father at a young age,
and her children having lost their father, Mama Esi decided
to offer care for the orphaned children of Kpando and its surrounding
area.
With limited funds, Mama Esi and her children converted their
home into an open space to accommodate orphan children. Relying
on her personal funds and selling homemade pastries, Mama Esi
was able to expand the orphanage and take in more children.
Today, she has ten children under her parental care, ranging
in age from four to 14-years-old.
Venunye Djentuh is the Director of Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage. Having
worked in the teaching field for over five years, he gained
quite an affinity for the wonderful kids. After learning more
of their needs, he determined to establish Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage
as a non-profit organization in Ghana.
Future Plans
To address the growing need in Kpando, the organization is
planning to acquire land for a new orphanage which can accommodate
many more children.
Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage welcomes the support of volunteers and
donors to assist in their efforts to provide the orphans of
Kpando with quality care, instill the values of education, and
promote healthy development.
