Regardless of your skill level, your contributions in a village are appreciated. Come with an open mind and heart, ready to learn and pitch in where needed.

Village Volunteers offers participants a great deal of flexibility, and many volunteers find that their activities may change from one day to the next.

As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to assist in the day-to-day needs of a community. This could mean...

  • working in a school, clinic, or orphan home
  • teaching English or public health awareness
  • documenting cultural folklore, customs or languages
  • assisting in agricultural or building projects
  • working with an orphan feeding project
  • providing IT / computer skill training
  • assisting local women with their micro-enterprises
  • spending time in less formal settings with children playing sports and games
  • working with special needs children, their families, and possibly their teachers

To learn more about specific volunteer opportunities, visit our pages which list our partners in Kenya, Ghana, India, and Nepal. Look for the partners that list "» Volunteer opportunities" in their description.

Our Sustainable Village Library may provide you with helpful information needed for planning your volunteer activities or you can share your own special talents. We will work with you to create a meaningful trip for you and for the villages.
