Asante Sana

Beatrice, a widow, worked tirelessly in her small garden; she struggled for years to just break even. After hearing about the training Common Ground Program (CGP) in Kitale, Kenya was offering to Masaba "A" Widows Group, she applied for a membership with the group and was accepted. Through the training on GROW BIOINTENSIVE agriculture, Beatrice has been able to grow her food for her family and surplus sold to generate income for other household needs. Additionally, she applied for a loan and received $100 USD. It was just the helping hand Beatrice needed to build her business of a small storefront, selling used and new clothes, and to begin earning a living wage. Beatrice has been trained on various aspects of community development including business management; and today, she runs a prosperous business that sells clothes. But more important to Beatrice, her profits have enabled her to keep her daughter in a secondary school.

Beatrice's success shows how investing in the hard-working poor immediately improves their lives and helps the next generation achieve as well. By working together to provide microloans, gardening and other life support skills, we are one step closer to ending poverty in poor farms of Kenya, and in the most remote corners of the globe. Your contributions allow us to meet the challenges of helping hundreds of microentrepreneurs access the credit and other services they need to succeed through their own hard work and help feed thousands of the hungry in Kenya while conserving resources.

It's amazing, even a donation of $25 can positively impact the life of a poor business owner/farmer forever.

Thank you for your continued support!
