Environmental Conservation

Our environment supports us through the food we eat and the water we drink. Our lives depend on supporting our environment in return. These documents bring environmental issues to light, educate on how best to conserve the natural world we share, and outline the implications of not doing so.

Village Volunteers is committed to the conscientious use of resources.
Please review PDF documents (get the free Adobe Acrobat Reader) before printing.
  • Environmental Stress: The New Leading Cause of Human Conflict
Environmental stress easily escalates into violence among people struggling to gain access to clean water, non-contaminated soil for food, or regions safe from natural disasters. Learn more about how these issues effect people in developing nations.
  • Environmental Youth Action Corps Guide
People are often not aware of the damaging health and environmental effects activities may cause. Those who understand the consequences have the responsibility to raise awareness in their community on prevention methods to decrease or eliminate behaviors that can negatively impact both people and the environment.
  • Guide to Proper Battery Storage and Disposal
Batteries contain materials that are hazardous to the immune system, such as mercury, which can lead to health damage. Learn to properly dispose of batteries and how to store them before use to prevent leakage.
The Sustainable Village Library is a collection of projects, research, curriculum and guides submitted by and for volunteers and villagers. These documents are designed to be shared and to enhance sustainable development efforts. If you have information to share with people across the world, please send submissions to Village Volunteers.
