How Village Partners Benefit
from Working with Village Volunteers
Through collaboration and partnership, Village Volunteers assists
the programs of Non-Governmental Organizations by providing:
| » |
Support for their goals and objectives through fundraising
for projects that promote economic development, education,
and HIV/AIDS support. 100% of funds raised go directly to the village projects. |
| » |
International volunteers who are well prepared and dedicated
to assisting the partners in achieving their goals, while building
a sustainable hospitality industry.
|
| » |
On-going support and assistance for returning volunteers
who continue fundraising and outreach efforts that benefit the village programs. Resources include a library
of PowerPoint presentations that address topics such as micro-credit for women,
briquetting (the use of biomass for fuel), bucket irrigation
(low-tech drip irrigation), and point of use ceramic water
filters.
|
| » |
Access to an advisory board of
experts in a variety of community development fields, including:
healthcare, nutritional counseling, HIV/AIDS education, engineering
(solar energy, clean water, infrastructure), agriculture, education,
business (micro-lending and micro-enterprise programs), building
and construction, and grant writing and review.

Letter from Peter Awilo Kithene, Mama Maria Kenya Founder and Director
Village Volunteers has provided a phenomenal relationship between the people we are working with in the village and the outside world. The volunteers bring so much to our program; more than words can express. And I'm beyond grateful for it. Besides providing an important source of income to our program-through grants, volunteer fees, and donations-VV has been a lens through which people in the village see the outside world, and through which people from different parts of the world see life in an African village. Once these relationships are established, they run deep, and they continue well after the volunteers leave. Volunteers remain connected to our program and our village in ways we could never have hoped. We owe so much to VV; we can't thank you enough! Long live VV!
- Awilo
